RECITAL:
MUSIC RECITAL FEATURING ALBERT WILLIAMS

Albert Williams is a Hot Springs High School student who wants to be an opera singer. He is a baritone singer. The Hot Springs Artists Society sponsored him with private voice lessons, first at a location in Hot Springs, and then with generous donations from donors, Albert has moved, as a high school student, to singing voice lessons twice a month with a vocal music professor Anne Basinski at the University of Montana School of Music in Missoula.

On Friday March 20, 2015, at 8:00 P.M.at the Symes Hot Springs Hotel, Albert Williams accompanied on the piano by Dixie S. Hall, performed a vocal music recital. The music program included operatic arias, art songs, sacred music, and musical theater songs. The variety of music that night was sung in five languages: German, Italian, French, Latin and English.

The event hall at the Symes Hot Springs Hotel was full of an appreciative audience. The audience members were surprised by Albert’s ease of performance, the complexity of the music for such a young man, and his ability to sing in several languages.

Albert and Dixie

Albert’s Biography—

Hello, I am Albert Williams, the featured soloist singing for you today. My original home was the Northern Cheyenne Reservation in Eastern Montana, but in my short life I’ve traveled and experienced much. I have gone from the infant, trying to escape the sweat lodge, to return to it as if enchanted by the beat of the hand game drums; then a teenager, playing the trumpet because my voice was cracking. And finally, to the young man wearing a suit who stands before you now to sing classical and operatic music.

During this time I have been fortunate to meet many mentors who helped guide my passion for singing to fertile soil where it will grow and flourish. My wish is that all who come to hear me sing will experience my joy, and be encouraged to pursue their own cherished dreams, as I do now.

GALA 2014 – A RESOUNDING SUCCESS

A  SUCCESSFUL  AUCTION

Once again our generous donors and patrons came through, despite the frigid weather, to make our annual art auction and wine-tasting party a great success. The total receipts for the gala came to nearly $4,500. We seem to attract a few more donors and bidders each year.

We are so appreciative of the ongoing support of our local friends, and welcome those out-of-towners who have made this event one of their priorities every year. We thank Ed Wolff, D.V.M., for agreeing to be our featured artist this year, and understand he was pleased with his resulting sales. All in all, it was another enjoyable and profitable event, which will allow HSAS to continue sponsoring the Children's Theater, the summer art camp, and our various juried art shows.

The HSAS officers and Board of Directors put in hours and hours of planning and work to create this party every year, which brings so much business and positive publicity to Hot Springs. They also deserve a round of applause.
